chicago71.jpg   The joint PPG/TransGroup Worldwide Logistics booth at the huge AWEA Exhibition in Chicago has proved a glowing success with all participants gaining invaluable contracts, leads and genuine business opportunities. The PPG/TransGroup booth was a wonderful investment and we plan to participate in the next event to be held in Dallas in 2010. A live performance of the Blues Brothers saw thousands of visitors flocking to our booth. Several other exhibitors stated that they were doing more business at our booth, than their own!  It was a really wonderful show and the feedback from those who attended from PPG has been extremely positive.

PPG St. Petersburg, Russia, Eurosib-Logistics, has wrapped up the project of shipping large-diameter pipes (D-1420 mm) for the Russian giant Gazprom for the construction of the Nord Stream gas pipeline. The pipes will be laid at the Nord Stream’s land section between the towns of Gryazovets and Vyborg. The total volume of the transported cargo amounted to 35,000 tonnes, or 3,866 units with the combined length of 44.5 km. Manufactured by the German company Europipe GmbH, the pipes have an internal smooth anti-friction coating and an external three-layer protective polyethylene coating. The turnkey is under DDU terms, with PPG's major sponsor vessel "Beluga Evaluation" scheduled to arrive at Umm Quasar Port on 24th April 2009.  icecorp7seas1.jpg In an extremely challenging project, PPG Canada, IceCorp Projects, and Jordan, Seven Seas Shipping and Transport Company, has successfully concluded a major shipment of Girder Cranes and accessories from Canada and USA to Iraq. The negotiations between seller and buyer lasted about two years after the terms of shipping and letter of credit requirements did not really meet reality. It took quite a time to get test certificates issued and bookings were constantly deferred as a result of these complex issues. The final carrier choice was Wallenius Wilhelmsen who had vessels over booked to that region several months ahead and any changes and delays threw the schedule even further behind.
